I have a list of approximately 100 species of graminoids species (mainly Poaceae, including Juncaceae and Cyperaceae). This comes from a meta-analysis I am conducting on natural ecosystems on a global scale with most of the observations located in North america, central Europe and China. However some studies are also present in Hawaii, South America, India, Southern Europe, India, Japan...
Questions:
1) Apparently there are papers reporting lists of species and their carbon fixation pathway for vascular plants e.g. in Europe... Is there something similar e.g. for China? And what about other locations?
2) If this is the case, then can I leave out Juncaceae and Cyperaceae? Are these taxa C3 species mainly?
I am not a plant biologist, however I think that there are similar photosynthetic carbon metabolism types even within the same genera, isn't it?
Hope the questions are clear.
Thanks
Gabriele
