I want to choose "carbon- solid" as my material in one of my regions in Ansys fluent. The settings involve surface reactions of carbon with oxygen. But carbon solid comes under fluid materials in fluent. How can I choose it as a solid? will choosing it as a fluid will have any effect on heat transfer and reactions mechanism?
I guess , you mean ,one of your boundary wall should be made of solid carbon. If i am not wrong, there will be a problem if you chose it a fluid. Edit one of the solid material to Carbon Solid, change the properties according to the properties of carbon solid and save, Don't overwrite the properties to the existing one. After that, you will see a carbon solid material on the solid material tab. Then you can change the wall material properties. to carbon solid instead of the default steal or aluminum.
what if I choose it as a fluid and make wall thickness equal to zero?
