Hey, I'm trying to find the frequencies of a cantilever beam with heavy mass and spring attached at the free end as shown in figure.
First, I found the solution without the spring and it was reasonable compared with the analytical solution. However, when I add the spring, the solution doesn't change which mean something is wrong. Anyone have an idea what might be the problem?

You haven't explained what model you are using in detail. I mean whether it is 2D or 3D. your model is steady-state or transient etc. I think that somehow solver is ignoring the spring you created in the model, therefore, you are getting same results. You can double check this in the "Solution Information" detail and see what warnings are there. This is a good place for starting the root cause.

Thanks for your answer. I already found what was my problem. The coefficient of the spring was too small to notice the difference.
