I have ground zinc oxide with lactose and after doing XPS studies, I have found that both zinc oxide and metallic zinc is present. Is it possible for lactose to reduce Zn(+2) to Zn(0)?
I am working on physico-chemical aspects of homeopathic medicines and presently working on metal oxides. So while triturating metal oxides with lactose, i found that metal oxides get converted to metals.
