As I have done geochemical analysis on my samples, I have prepared them in XRF pots roughly 2.5 cm diameter and 2.5 cm high (see picture). The samples are ~1 cm deep.

I am going to "wet" freeze the samples in the same containers I will use for freeze-drying. I want to avoid sample loss which would occur by transferring them to petri-dishes. Is it possible to freeze-dry them in their XRF pots?

If yes, I will be using liquid nitrogen on 4 of the samples before freeze-drying. Can I just pop the pots into the N too?
