Hi, I don't see a reason, why it couldn't be used as well.

In fact, when I was in Berlin, I believe we had orange loading dye for SDS-PAGE, so it likely contained Orange G.

Bromophenol blue is commonly used as a tracking dye in SDS-PAGE for protein analysis. It migrates at a similar rate to small to medium-sized proteins, allowing for visual tracking of the progress of electrophoresis. On the other hand, Orange G is often used as a tracking dye in agarose gel electrophoresis, particularly in DNA electrophoresis. It migrates faster than Bromophenol blue in agarose gels and is used to monitor the progress of electrophoresis and estimate the DNA migration distance.
