Can we use petrol for extraction of bituminous?

It may show difference in efficiency but is it recommended or usable method for extraction of bituminous.

Reproducibility you can obtain using a solvent with controlled properties/composition. So mush better will be to use toluene or dichloromethane.

Remember that asphaltene fraction prexipitatrs at hifh content of saturated hydrocarbons (alkanes).
