For pearl millet we already have significant number of crop simulation models but not for millets: barnyard millet, proso millet, etc. Please throw light on their availability.
Hello José De Luca actually I want to use crop simulation model to study the climate change impact on barnyard/finger millet, so a significant number of CSMs are available for Pearl millet but I haven't come across any for other millets. I wanted to know if such CSMs are available. Does Montecarlo simulation support it??
Hi @Shivani , I suggest you use Crystal Ball , a Montecarlo simulation software developed by Oracle Inc.
It runs with Excell spreadsheet , you need to build your model in an Excell file linking the cells that they stores variables , formulas and parameters.
I noticed about this software when I teach as Operation Research professor in many careers of my university ( engineering , management , economy ) because Crystal Ball is used in one of my most popular book (Operation Research in Management Science) , authors : Eppen , Gould and Schmidt.
If you visit Oracle site and look forward Crystal Ball You can download a version one month free
I build many agricultar model similar to your millet using CB , because this software is very useful if You don't have the probanility distribution of the variables .
It has three type of variables : assumption , decision and forecasting
In assumption variables You can select the most fit of the distribution probanility and with few data You find the parameters of the distribution selected
