Yes, you an publish multiple articles based on a thesis or dissertation, but they must each be different from the others. Maybe you have multiple forms of analysis, and you use some for one paper and the others for the next paper.
If you do this, be sure to reword EVERYTHING. You can preserve the ideas, but no few if any sentences should be the same in your thesis and multiple articles (unless quoted with a citation).

The reality is that you can publish different journal articles from one single thesis as long as each journal paper is different from one another. To be exact, each of your journal papers should address different issues or objectives.
