Biomedical Engineering comprises many domains, such as tissue engineering, biosensors, clinical engineering and physiological modeling, but I was wondering if environmental engineering can be added as another area, or we are talking about an entirely different discipline.
I think there is no boundary across different disciplines, particularly, those disciplines in engineering/technology and applied sciences can share knowledge, principles, theories, methodologies etc from different basic sciences. For example, environmental engineering and biomedical engineering may not necessarily overlap each other. However, they can use the knowledge, methodologies or theories from the same basic sciences or applied sciences for its intended applications.
in recent research focus, some of the topics covered by these 2 disciplines may include infectious disease prevention, chronic and non-communicable disease prevention, disease control based on preventive medicine, and public health theories. It may also encompass the health impacts of environmental factors on people's daily lives and work, including air quality, occupational hazards, and radiation hazards
