I'm sceptical dear Abhijit about your idea. RG is only scientifically oriented online platform for satisfying academic dialogue and nothing more special. Please, notice that RG has no great goals, vision or mission of serving humanity. Why we should celebrate RG who already rejected and suspended accounts of many of our Colleagues from different countries in the world, who celebrated RG ? Besides there are observed pathologies of functionning on RG as participants. For example some participants are confusing the others with downvoting, some are posting kind of as own etc. to receive more scores or popularity. There are even organizaed groups from particular academias who are harassing others, what I and a few Colleagues have analyzed some weeks ago. In conclusion I would say celebrating World RG Day is unfounded. Let us just have some good intellectually valuable time spent together while participating in this network and learning from each other.
We can celebrate any day as long as it does no harm, it does some good, and if it increases happiness in a small or large measure.
There are many more unusual days that people celebrate: carrot cake day, World Wetlands Day, World Nutella Day. So why not RG day, day my first paper appeared in a journal, anniversary of the day I joined RG? I celebrate Learning: off RG and on RG.

I think it is a good idea. RG is a unique gathering of scholars from almost every part of the world. I expect to see innovative contributions on that day: wise words, new quotes, poetry...any thing that is pleasant & useful.

Good idea. I would also propose we do a competition to select what could be the "scientist day" or "researcher day" -based on a historical event, for example - to be the day of the celebration.
It will be a time when we will flood our inboxes with anniversary messages.

It is brilliant idea, so as to lead research relations upward for the benefit of humanity.
A good question in the line of the identity of RG a gateway for knowledge.Knowledge is power & no limits for the discrimination of the knowledge .It is highway traffic which an universal applicability .
In the above line celebration of world RG may work out with meaningful purpose .
We all are a members of RG under the 1 umbrella where every expertise knowledge of every part & action place a fragrance in their working & knowledge & this is beneficial to require need of the members .
To me one varying important liking for me that our RG have covered the expertise of knowledge in all branches were the members of various countries of the world play their contribution .
It is not possible for the members to see ,to meet ,the member concern face to face directly but according to our association & joining with the members of different countries in the line with our expression we may certainly come our affinities & liking for the members living far distance which help us to establish mental link with our participating members .
In celebration we cannot join with the members of all countries but we can certainly make a suitable day for the celebration of RG by forming the message with inspiration,guidance,covering the need of time .

We should ask RG admin to exclude the downvoters from our celebration, as they may ruin the party!
Can we celebrate World RG day?
Yes we can. Perhaps RG should consider as seeing more & more "world day" contributing to research e.g. World Cancer Research Day, World Systems Research Day, Development Research Day etc.

Everytime we tune to RG, we celebrate and end the session with some added knowledge/ new friends/ new ideas!
No effort needed.
Can't say the same for some other activities we do everyday.
In my view everyday is RG day. However, it will not be a bad idea to set aside a special day to encourage existing members to continue to share ideas (and indeed others to join) for the furtherance of knowledge and benefit of mankind.
why not to call it RG week and to prepare for it by gathering the mass to upgrade their data so as be a week of adding new members.

Let the date of celebration be the same date of the founding of RG. Perhaps we could hold an annual conference and banquet on or near that date.
