Despite the age factor, Type 1 DM and late stage of Type 2 DM can induce similar type of diabetic complications. Metabolic and circulating pancreatic hormone produced by beta cells are depleted, possibly because in late stage of type 2 DM or in type 1 DM loss of beta cell is common feature.

This hypothesis is consistent with the appearance of diabetic complications in late stage of Type 2 DM (as pancreatic beta cell hormone Insulin along with C-peptide is produced normally or at slightly elevated levels) but diabetic complications can be progressively developed with patients' Type 1 DM disease progression because of beta cell insuficiency. It is likely that lack of insulin as well as C-peptide could play vital role in diabetic complications rather than hyperglycemia alone does. However, no studies have yet explained these issues.

Your comments can help me to develop logical hypothesis for further study.
