Can Trans-membrane proteins (such as the Leptin Receptor (ObR) or ST2) appear as cytoplasmic proteins in IHC experiments??

Due to the fact that trans-membrane proteins have a cytoplasmic and an extracellular domain, is it possible that such proteins appear as cytoplasmic proteins in IHC experiments, or is their localization in IHC strictly on cell membranes?
