I would like to know if I can store my pre-amplified cDNA at -20°C for up to 2 weeks prior qPCR. I am using the PreAMP cDNA synthesis kit with a pathway specific primer mix. In the kit handbook they recommend to store the pre-amplified cDNA overnight at -20°C before qPCR, but they do not mention anything about storing the samples for longer periods. Does someone have experience with this?

I always stored my cDNA in -20C after run a qPCR, and re-take it if I want to test more genes (maybe a few weeks later) and they are still good if placed in -20C. One of the concern is just to make sure the housekeeping genes still look good within like 1ct and don't deviate too much. Otherwise I think it will still be good.
Thanks Wei Lun Ng, but i meant cDNA that has been pre-amplified because the initial RNA amount is small. I am wondering if you can stored it the same way as non-pre-amplified cDNA.
Elisa, you can always go to -80C if you feel uncertain of -20C. Successful experiments!
I would recommend the -80 C if you plan on storing them longer than a few days.
-20 works just fine if you want to keep for few days. For longer, use -80 i would say

Dear Elisa, just to let you know that I also used pre-amplified cDNA in some of my experiments and stored them at -20C even for few weeks. I never had any troubles with these samples. Of course -80C will be safer for longer times.

You must aliquot your cDNA in to twice use aliquot and store it to -80 . It works.
