Dear Sir or Madam,
I am trying to create a simple regional groundwater model in a small region in Germany near Frankenau. What I am confused, is the estimation of hydraulic conductivity value. The model concept looks like this:
1. The model is done interchangeably using 2 software's, which are QGIS 3.2 and Processing Modflow 5.0 (both are freeware)
2. I received the Digital Elevation Model, which I edited and worked more with QGIS, so that a rough catchment can be used as a background map in Modflow
3. There are 3 aquifers, each aquifer corresponds to different geological layer with each hydraulic conductivity, aquifer is thought to be confined
The division of layers look like : Silt (0-4.75 m); Sand/gravel (4.75 - 12.5 m); Granulit (ore mountain, 12.5 - 68.925 m) with hydraulic conductivity of 1E-6, 1E-4 and 1E-4 m/s respectively.
Transmissivity, vertical leakage will be automatically calculated in the software.
4. The more detailed question would be, can someone actually review my model and maybe could give me better insight on how to improve? Because as it can be seen in the resulting hydraulic head, the min value is 115 m to a max of 9368 m with interval of 925 m. This cannot be, it should be in the range of 200-300 m only based on the elevation model.
