I am working on abaqus using UMAT subroutine. I wrote my code on fortran.
i modelise a small soil consolidation 0.1*0.1. in abaqus and run it with abaqus but the result gave me error.
for my model, i used anisotropic model but in my example i made isotropic model and it is worked.
for my own model, the result i got is: too many attempts made for this increment and i remark step 1 is converge but not step 2, step 3 and step 4.
could any someone give an idea how i can solve this problem?
time increment used is dynamic implicit and i try to reduce the time increment size but no way.

My guess is that your DDSDDE formulation or coding is wrong somewhere.
I did not get what you mean by "isotropic model worked" ... is it another subroutine ? I would use hypothetical material parameters for the same anisotropic model set-up such that the material model becomes isotropic. e.g. for a linear elastic case for elaboration: choose values such that Exx = Eyy = Ezz where E is Young modulus for respective axis even though the formulation and coding have those explicit Exx, Eyy and Ezz terms.
"Isotropic model worked "mean the simple example i wrote gave me a result Again it's mean it is running( so it was an example).
After i got the result, i tried to modified that code and create my own code. (anisotropic model ) its mean different direction have different elastic modulus. 12 constants.
so i think i make amistake the way i wrote DDSDE as you said Hojjat but i dont know how to correct it.
when i didn't get a solution for my problem, that's why I ask a help!!!

Abdo are you providing the values of E through subroutine or GUI using PROPS? try to check integration scheme you have implemented.
