SARS-CoV-2 binds to the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), a human receptor. This receptor is present on blood cells, but blood cells don't have nucleus, hence the virus cannot replicate in it. However, young erythrocytes, which are produced by the red bone marrow, do have a nucleus. Hence my question, is there any publication that checked if can SARS-CoV-2 directly interact with blood cells by invading it, or by limiting its production, or more generally, by altering its function?

At my best knowledge, there is no investigation that determined if SARS-CoV-2 can impair the production of blood cell, and there are no evidence that the virus penetrates significantly into red blood cells.
