I plan to analyze the optimization results using RSM. However, I wonder can my present data be used in RSM. Previously, I optimized my extraction conditions individually. For example, to get optimum temperature, the rest of conditions such as ph, times and concentration I kept them constant. I notice there are some drawbacks for this technique and then I came across RSM. I just wanna know whether RSM can still be used after the optimization already done or I need to design the conditions using RSM and get the predicted response then do the experiment.
It seems from your question that you had performed one factor at time experiments to get the optimum. So it might possible to re-perform the experiments.
Moreover, once your range finalization you may notice, few experiments might have previously performed and you may use them by using block in your design.
The short answer is no, as RSM is designed to assess whether there are interactions between your parameters, which you can not do in one-factor at a time; however RSM is not the be all and end all of optimisation, and in particular it is not very good when the effects are not linear or polynomial (typically when the impact of a given factor has a plateau, as is very common for TIME).
