Meta analysis like any other study, its analysis can be conducted by SPSS

Ishan Kumar, although calculations can be performed in SPSS (as Taqi Mohammed Jwad Taher mentioned), specific software's might help you to calculate and illustrate meta-analyses appropriately. I would recommend RevMan from Cochrane Group, Stata (using the package metan, confunnel etc) or R (using the package meta).

Well, what is more, important than "can this software do this analysis?" is "How reliable is this software and how commonly used in doing this analysis". Some analyses in the meta-analysis are pretty straightforward that you can do it manually, but other's are highly sophisticated and needs a highly validated software. The validity of SPSS in this type of analysis has not been measured, so the best decision is to use validated tools like RevMan, Stata, and R. Also, you can utilize a more user-friendly software like OpenMeta[Analyst] from Brown University and AHRQ.

I do recommend RevMan, too. However, if you want to do a bivariate random/fixed model study, STATA and R could be more useful.
