Lactase deficiency is not rare condition and baby with congenital lactase deficiency offers great problem to the parents. In the same way adult cases can't drink milk. If lactase preparation can be given to the baby with lactase deficiency immediately after breast feeding in liquid form it may be cost effective and baby will get natural immunity from mother milk. Adult person also will not deprived from such a delicious food.
True congenital lactase deficiency in infancy is uncommon in many populations. What does you data show for the prevalence of the deficiency in your population?
There are lactase drops to use in conjunction with breastfeeding or human milk (given before feeding) - however I am not aware of any research that shows that these have an effect beyond placebo for the parents. Do you know of research showing there is a helpful effect on the infant? Or any research showing there is benefit to the infant to have reduced lactose feeds when lactose if vital for brain growth and other functions?
Are you suggesting that human milk could be used for adults as a "delicious food" if there was no lactose in it?
