Dear colleagues
The MUSE cell analyzer has the Muse® Annexin V & Dead Cell Kit for apoptosis analysis . In the kit description, it is informed that the dyes Annexin V and 7-AAD are used for cell death evaluation.
However, the high price of the kit makes it difficult to use in my laboratory in Brazil (it is only possible to perform 100 tests).
I would like to know if it is possible to use a solution of Annexin V + 7-AAD or a cheaper kit of another brand instead of the Muse® Annexin V & Dead Cell Kit in the MUSE cell analyzer.

Yes,
It is definately possible. Different brands like Thermo fisher or signa sells only AnnexinV attacged to some fluorophore. So, it will be cheaper. So, you can use 7 AAD or PI parralal to that. But keep in mind that the binding buffer is important. If you dont use the binding buffer, which generally comes with the whole kit or separately is important for Annexin V binding to the cell membrane.

Yes you can. I worked in a lab with a Muse cell analyzer and found the dependence on their kits to be frustrating and have used my own reagents with their cell analyzer. Just make sure your reagents fit the same parameters as their in terms of excitation and emission and you can customize the use of the Muse.
