Hello, I am planning to coat a 96-well plate with CD3 antibody to evaluate Jurkat cell activation. I currently have the SPL #30196 plate. Would this plate be suitable for this experiment? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
SPL #30196 cell culture plate (96-well plate) is TC treated and made of polystyrene. Polystyrene microplates are a type of matrix commonly used for immobilization of proteins. Proteins passively adsorb to the polystyrene surface through hydrophobic interactions. Polystyrene will bind a wide variety of proteins depending on their concentration in the coating buffer.
On the other hand, carbohydrates and those proteins that are heavily glycosylated do not adsorb well to polystyrene because they have very little ability to participate in hydrophobic interactions.
