Can i use secondary antimouse IgM for primary Phospho-Akt (Ser473) (587F11) Mouse mAb #405v1 for western blot?
Just have a look on the catalog. Most murine monoclonals are IgG's. IgM's are very often so-called "multireactive".

Hi I have used secondary antimouse IgG from Amersham on Phospho Akt. Not sure about IgM check the datasheet of your primary. I also used Total Akt as a control rather than Actin.
You can but for better result you should use IgG molecule conjugated with HRP, ALP or any chemiluminescence for your convenient and check with your primary Ab data sheet in recommended antibody portion.

I have just checked your antibody it is a IgG2b isotype. In theory an anti mouse IgM secondary sould not give you ANY signal at all, since they are supposed to be specific just for IgM. You should try to get an anti mouse IgG secondary. If you have a secondary against other species IgGs you could give them a try, but i cannot assure they will work since I have never tested them.
u can use other species raised secondary ab for the same igG:) As per my knowledge primary produced antibodies (igM) in individuals are less potent than secondary ab (igG) against immune response. generally igG sec ab will use :)
Yangping Wu. There are indeed anti-IgM atibodies conjugated to HRP, I have used them to titrate IgM from inoculated mice. Goat anti-Mouse IgM secondary antibody (ab9167)
Ab's datasheet clearly says that the isotype is Igg2b, why do you want to use anti IgM?

Don´t try to get an anti IgG2b, just get an anti IgG. It works for all IgG isotipes.
