I am going to collect blood cells, but I am having some problems with my -80C freezer. So, I am planning to add RNA later (Ambion) on my samples (blood cells) and keep them at -20C until RNA extraction. Is it OK? Thank you very much in advance.
actually storing temp either-20˚C or -80˚C of any sample depend on how long you are going to store , regarding RNA which is a very fragile , i suggest not to use -20˚C because even you get the RNA isolation but amount of RNA quantity will be lesser then actual amount which may affect the band intensity of your experiment , which will not help you out the real conclusion of your result, so even if you are storing at -20˚C, as soon as possible to do start your experiment will be safer , and during experiment please avoid repeated freezing and thawing of sample .
