I'm trying to make a experiment in which i use fibronectin as a surface coat, but the cells are from Rat (C6 glioma and endothelial cells) and the fibronectin we have here is from human. Can I mix both?
Run a Blast to compare human and rat fibronectin to find out how much they share.
If you are not using immunologic epitopes and both proteins are close in their aminoacid sequence you may use it.
Do you need fibronectin to improve adhesion of your cells? Fibronectin from any species contain RGD motiff used by intergrin-mediated adhesion. It does not matter which species it is.
I think human fibronectin is available for your experiment. I used bovine fibronectin for isolated eel heptosizes to attach a plate. Poly L-lysine is also available to attach cells to a plate.
