Fatin Safiudin YES, you can, to the first question (empty gel as dummy). Not sure about the second question though because you have to use the gel for transfer to the membrane, no? Or in any case get it out of the glass/whatever you use? How would you even put it back in??? Not sure I understood that second question. Maybe provide more details? What model of gel set?

Yes you can reuse the gel but I would suggest better to change the buffer as some proteins with small molecular size from previous run may effect your banding pattern.
