hi to all, is SDS compatible with zip tip? i need to eliminate sds from a protein sample containing 10% of this detergent, can i use ziptip?
otherwise could i use alternative detergents such as sodium deoxycholate, or chaps? are they compatible with ziptip?

Hi Antonio, in order to remove SDS from protein samples Acc. To my expertise the best is acetone precipitation, that you can remove SDS sticking to protein molecules.
If you use desalting columns than you have a problem with SDS micelles that you cannot separate.

what do you think about methanol/chloroform precipitation?

Sorry, have no experience with the techniques. In my reconstitution studies with partially delipidated inactive H, K-ATPase I used detergent free media to make specific liposomal suspension by sonication.
