We're trying to grow fungi on different plates (GY, DG18...) with Chloramphenicol (100μg/ml), but bacteria will not stop growing and fungi are in generally easier countable if colored. So can someone name a solution for our dilemma? Preemptive Thanks.
Chloramphenicol is only a bacteriostatic, and was in fact first isolated in a Gram positive bacterium (Streptomyces venezuelae).
Consider using such restriction factors like temperature (suitable for fast fungal but not bacterial growth), and selective carbon source.
Many bacteria would not grow well on agar plates maintained below 16C, whereas some yeasts are fine with that temperature range (though it takes time for growth and selection).
Low pH may also help to exclude some bacteria.

Finally, a combo of more than 1 antibiotic may help to limit the bacterial growth further.
