Magnetic biochar effectively adsorbs dye pollutants due to its high surface area, porous structure, and magnetic properties. The biochar's surface charge and interactions like hydrogen bonding enable adsorption of dye molecules. Modifying biochar with magnetic materials enhances its dye removal capacity compared to unmodified biochar. Studies show magnetic biochar can achieve dye adsorption capacities of 3-20 mg/g for common dyes. The magnetic properties allow easy separation and recycling of the spent biochar, improving cost-effectiveness. Magnetic biochar is a promising adsorbent for efficiently removing toxic dye pollutants from wastewater through a sustainable and cost-effective process, making it a beneficial technology for environmental remediation.
