In publication "A new low-cost method for long-term preservation of filamentous fungi" by Osama A. Al-Bedak, Rania M. Sayed, Sedky H.A. Hassan, a method for preserving fungi on PDA infused cotton balls at 17-20 C temperature, for up to 36 months is described. But I am not sure if this could work, based on the information given in the publication, since generally long term preservation involves freezing/drying of the cultures. Has anyone had any experience with this method, and does it actually work?
