can c2c12 cells be cultured with 10% FBS insteadt of 20% without affecting their differenentiation potential ?

I wouldn't change the amount of FBS unless it is absolutely necessary for the experiment. Several types of studies use serum starvation (lowered amounts of FBS than prescribed) to induce specific results, such as to study environmental stress, protein expression, and is known to arrest cell cycles. Since cell cycles are very important to differentiation, I would surmise that it could have an affect. I hope this helps!

have you tried differentiating your c2c12 cells? do they differentiate into myotubes in 72- 96 hrs of incubation in 2% horse serum?
do you know of any published study wher people have grown c2c12 in 10% fbs.
