Hi everyone,

I am attempting to use NAC to scavenge ROS in human fibroblasts.

I have done a couple of pilot experiments in which I treated the cells with a range of NAC concentrations (5mM, 1mM and 0.1mM) and found that addition of NAC appeared to induce elevated ROS. I was wondering if this is due to altered pH of the medium due to addition of the NAC?

If this is the case, is it best to pH the NAC solution with sodium hydroxide to the same pH as the cell culture medium?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Gail
