I need a protocol for lysozyme lysis of Lactobacillus species for DNA extraction from urine and vaginal smear specimens. I have found literatures in which lysozyme lysis is used for Lactobacillus isolates from culture media. Can anyone give me some tips or share protocol how to do this?

here are some more protocols. if you can not use Promega kit, then i will suggest you to do a phenol:chloroform extraction. Works really nice. but, at the end dissolve your DNA pellet into pre-heated (70C) ddH2O instead of TE, or into LTE (5mM Tris-HCl ph7.5; 0.01mM EDTA pH 8.0).
