I am searching literature (published, unpublished) on feeding, growth, body condition and reproduction of coral reef grazers from habitats that show seasonal changes in environmental conditions. Especially areas where there are seasonal shifts in algal functional group abundance and biomass. There are reports of seasonality in algae production from many localities (including, the western Atlantic reefs, the Red Sea, the great barrier reef etc). The way nominal herbivores with different feeding modes (e.g. browsers, scrapers, excavators) respond to these changes is rarely recorded. At least my searches in the standard repositories shows that there is lack of research on seasonal aspects of reproduction, growth and feeding in these fish. I am posting this to ask if there is grey literature on this topic and if you can point me to it. Any work that deals with seasonal aspects of the life cycle and feeding of coral reef grazers are welcome.
