Here are my questions: Do homebound individuals change their telephone usage behaviors over time (i.e. initiation of calls for different purposes)?  If usage decreases, how much is attributed to changes in sensory, physical, and/or cognitive changes, and how much is attributed to changes in social relationships outside of the home?  Is presence of competent caregiver associated with changes in telephone usage behaviors and if so, in which direction (higher or lower)?  Also interested in looking at other social media and means of communicating in this population, but at the moment searching for research specific to telephone.  Thank you for any suggestions you might have for related research.
