Hi,for establishment of brain metastasis another common way is intracardiac injection, there are some publications about. it is tricky, but you don't need incision, just regular anesthesia machine works fine. needs lot of practice,of course, but it is well described. good luck

Hi, the best way to learn it is to watch how it is done instead of reading a published method - I could show you as I have done quite some. There are some papers in the diabetes research field where a carotid artery is catheterized for glycemic clamps.  For example, work by David Wasserman at Vanderbilt. The carotid arteries are pretty deep, you need to find it after blunt dissection. You might need to ligate the artery after the injection if an indwelling catheter is not needed . At the end, suture close the skin is sufficient. Best luck!
