I have some questions about quantum yield measure.
I have three QDs sample which emission wavelength at 520 nm, 550 nm and 590 nm and I use R6G as my standard sample. ( in ethanol which means its QY is 95% ) But I don't know how to choose excitation wavelength. ( many reference say is okay to choose 470-510 nm if you use R6G as standard sample )
Because organic-dye ( eg. R6G ) is independent of excitation wavelength, however QDs is dependent of excitation wavelength.
So, if I choose 480 nm as my excitation wavelength, will it have a different QY value if I choose 470 nm, 490nm or 510 nm ?
Also, can all three sample use the same excitation wavelength ?
i will suggest two things
1) choose that excitation wavelength at which you are getting maximum fluorescence intensity
2) excitation wavelength for the standard and the sample should be same or nearly same
