I use adenovirus vector to transduce 4T1 mammary carcinoma cells, this adenovirus delivers the gene responsible for IL-17A production, and I inject these 4T1 cells into mammary fat pad of the mouse where they start producing IL-17A locally.

My question, is this IL-17A production considered exogenous? If yes, how do we differentiate it from injection of rIL-17A?

Or is it endogenous production as long it mimics local IL-17A production within tumor?
