People with asthma may worry whether their asthma may put them at risk for getting coronavirus (COVID-19). It can be confusing because both asthma and coronavirus share symptoms of cough and shortness of breath. What are the clear guidelines in such cases?

In our University, we have tested the treatment of different patients of asthma by using Hydrogen/oxygen mix inhalation. The results were extraordinary with an obvious alleviation effect after one 30-minutes session. Molecular hydrogen has an anti- inflammation and antioxidant properties. It can neutralize the most dangerous ROS i.e. hydroxyl radical and peroxynitrite without perturbing the useful ones such as H2O2.
There are different animal studies and clinical trials that proved the beneficial effects of hydrogen against many diseases including asthma. H2 was effectively used in China for treating covid-19.

Asthma patients (in most of the cases) already had previous history of symptoms suggestive of asthma and are mostly aware of their specific aural or predisposing factors with likely family history and no exposure or contact with someone with flu like symptoms. One might find it difficult to differentiate the type of respiratory distress as a sign. However, I don't expect to see fever, anosmia, headache or throat pain in a clear cut asthmatic case.
They are almost two practical differences: the thorax radiography with air trapping on asthma and space occupying patron on COVID and very different response to bronchodilators
Hello. There are a lot of differeces between them:
- asthma has a personal/family history of allergic reactions, or they are known as atopic people; some from childhood; asthma is a chronic disease, you do not become an asthmatic over night;
- most, if not all asthma patients, develop aura, wheezing, coughing with a particular aspect of sputum; wich is not described in COVID;
-asthma people do not have fever, muscular aches, extreme fatigue, symptoms related to infections, viral or bacterial;
- if not infected, asthma attachs respond to bronchodilators;
-take into considerations that a lot of diseases evolve with dyspnea and wheezing: left cardia failure, pulmonary tromboembolism, carcinoid, uremic lung, COPD, Loeffler syndrom and so on.
