This frog species has been found in my garden at Rajiv Gandhi University Campus, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (India). As I am a bit poor in taxonomy of frogs I do hope experts in this field may like to help me in identifying the species.
Thanks All for joining the discussion. I also felt it is a cricket frog as the size was small in compare to other frogs. The size was somewhat bigger than cricket I cannot say correctly as I have not measured it but is definitely small. The picture was taken on 02-09-2012 in my garden at Rajiv Gandhi University campus, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (India). I also agree with Sir Muhammad Sharif Khan if I consider the images of Bull Frog available in google pages but the size is again a question. Lets try to explore more and identify the species correctly.
Its from the genus Hoplobatrachus.... check with Hoplobatrachus crassus and Hoplobatrachus littoralis as these two are available from the mentioned area.... but to correctly id the species you will need morphometrics, call and molecular studies....
