We planed to analysis of heavy metal, fluoride ,essential metals from disease suspected water. Do we need to follow microwave digestion ? Advantage?
The advantage of microwave digestion is more efficient and less time consuming.
Few things to consider
Time: microwave digestion is normally faster than simple acid boiling digestion
Cost: microwave probably more expensive
Extraction efficiency: It varies depending the matrix and metal
Safety: Recent microwave digestors are quite safe, boiling concentrated acid, not that safe
Hope this helps
Microwave digestion is safes time , efficient, more expensive,
