I need this solution to generate cracks (SCC) in austenitic stainless steel and I cant control the acidity of the solution, so if anyone can explain how to prepare the solution in right way??
Potassium tetrathionate (aq. sol.) could be expected to react with added sulfuric acid (aq. sol.) to generate tetrathionic acid and potassium sulfate: K2S4O6 + H2SO4 ⇌ H2S4O6 + K2SO4. Both H2S4O6 and (excess) H2SO4 should then contribute for acidic pH.
