I want to run a transfection experiment using mimics and inhibitors of a specific miRNA. Since it is my first experience in the master's thesis, I don't know which companies are the best.
in the literature i found many papers bought their mimics and inhibitors from applied biosystems but it's very expensive. I asked about the prices in Qiagen and it was almost less than half the price in applied biosystems.
So, my question does anyone here tried mimics or inhibitors from qiagen before? or at least read any published paper that used them? i am very worried about the quality.
Another question, if i am gonna order from Qiagen, do you suggest i use their transfection reagent (hiPerFect) or i should go for lipofectamin RNAi Max or Lipofectamin 3000 as most papers use ?

Qiagen provides high quality products, do not worry about that. You can maybe also check Dharmacon, they are very often cited in publications https://dharmacon.horizondiscovery.com/rnai/microrna/#overview
Regarding the transfection reagent, HiPerFect and Lipofectamines are among the most expensive on the market... without being superior. If you want to save money, I would recommend to test our Viromer BLUE (or Viromer GREEN depending on your cells), it's much more affordable.

Without any hesitation, go for Qiagen products range for miRNA studies. They are extremely good. I am using Qiagen miRNA-cDNA kit and their universal primers. for transfection, you can also look for Polyplus Interferin transfection reagent which transfect mimics/inhibitor to cells very efficiently. I tried with Lipofectamine 3000 as many paper suggested but NOT WORKED AT ALL, it failed to transfect mimics/inhibitor to breast cancer cells, then many recommended Lipofectamine RNAi MAX. Don't go for it. Use qiagen products and polyplus Interferin.
