I'm starting a new lab on a small budget. I need to buy a freezer for long term DNA storage. I know that I need a "manual" defrost freezer (rather than a frost-free freezer) to keep the temperature stable. I'm wondering if I can save a few dollars and buy a "normal" upright freezer from a home appliance store, or if I should really spend the extra money on a "scientific" freezer from a company. Any suggestions?
