Every so often, primary substrate i.e. glucose is always the carbon source for microbial cell culturing (exp: activated sludge). May I know whether sugar can be a suitable carbon source for microbial cell (activated sludge) culturing? what is the impact if sugar is selected as the main carbon source for acclimatization purpose? Except of glucose, sugar and molasses, what are the other carbon sources can be suitable for microbial cell (activated sludge) culturing? Thank you.
