I tend to prepare percoll dilutions in bulk (40% in HBSS in this case, but occasionally we use 30% and 70%) for large experiments and filter sterilize the finished product with a 0.22µm filter. This has worked well for me in the past, but I've read that this is not a recommended sterilization method. Does anyone happen to know why? Is autoclaving preferred?
