Hi everybody,
I am preparing some plant tissue microscope slides, and I am doing a specific staining for fungi coloration (WGA-AF488 in PBS buffer pH 7.2). I was wondering what would have been the best mounting medium to use, either for short and long-period storage of the microscope slides. Does anybody has suggestions?

Normally we use Mowiol prepared according to manufacturer's instruction (using glycerol, DAPI and PPD to protect from fading). It becomes solid very quickly, and the slides can be kept for a long time.However, you have to pay attention to the quality of the PPD solution. It should not be pink or brown.
You can use
DPX mountant, Sigma
or
Permount™ Mounting Medium, Electron Microscopy Science
both are best mounting media for plant tissue.
