We have found in rodents serving as models for Parkinson Disease who where subject to wheel running, changes in their BDNF. As in other mental disorders physical activity could be beneficial also in schizophrenia.
I agree with you. Physical activity increases BDNF levels and thus could have a beneficial role at least at gognitive and negative psychotic symptoms of schizophrenia. Regarding the positive I am not sure that BDNF could have a positive role on them.
Has anybody observed 20-22 kdA BDNF band along with 14kda mBDNF, 28 kDA truncated BDNF and 32 kDA Pro-BDNF? What is this 20-22 kDA BDNF band?
Same goes for BDNF and pro-inflammatory markers in MDD. Has anyone explored this relationship further?
