    They also damage or irritate the cochlea, the initiating factor for autism, I believe.   Also, I know of no evidence to show that brain changes in autism are primary.

I've been studying labwork on children with autism for more than twenty years and the consistency I see is that their bodies do not handle biochemical stress well, and of course, those stresses can be environmental.  

My favorite paper looking at genetics can be found here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3871708/pdf/fnhum-07-00858.pdf, and its basic gist is that they did find very different genetic errors in chemistry, many which coulld be treated if identified.  

I think the important concept in the paper is that there wasn't any one particular gene that defined autism or its vulnerabilities, and it took some hunting to find what was addressable within an individual child.  

What we don't know nearly enough about is how to restore a chemistry that has been pushed too far by stress, and that goes not only for autism, but also for a lot of old age conditions and chronic illness.  Scientific progress is one of these areas is likely to help in the others if we have our eyes open!

I would just like to draw your attention to a report from America describing the effects of iv Suramin to some autistic children with dramatic results improvement starting the same day.Some children talked for the first time.This is the drug that was used in encephalitis lethargica.The effects if I remember rightly on these autistic children only lasted months, but surely the drug can be used again.It presumably corrects something that is wrong with brain chemistry.No doubt we will hear more in the near future.If true it sounded very exciting.

I am an avid follower of the work of Bob Naviaux whose work on the cell danger response was what got him pursuing this suramin treatment that used to have such a different context.

 A lot of his work in this area, I think, could tie  into the new frontier opening up as we start to learn more about the inflammasome and all the intricacies of innate immunity that are coming from understanding the role of innate immunity in chronic illness.

In celebration of this new line of work, I went into Pubmed and counted how many articles were published each year on the cell danger response and the inflammasome because I wanted to understand the context for Dr. Navaiaux' work.  I hope my chart downloaded correctly, but the cdr data and the inflammasome data have two different scales so I could look at how fast they are being studied.  The inflammasome is a very hot topic now.

The work on the cell danger response obviously started earlier, and I added in a look at mitochondrial work within these two areas because I suspect that mito function is very relevant, too, but it still appears to be a relatively new area to study in this context..

I speka bout real dangers and damages of brain of fpoetus and neonatis! Intauteine infections, metabolic disorders, diets, hormonal disturbances, aemio, ect. Then preterm delivery, arteficial deliverz , anestesy, hypoxia, hypoglicemia, electrolite disbalna, perinatal and postnatal infectios, ect. Most preventable and curable etiologies! It is no reparation of mytochondrial damages! And the baby from firs hours and days must have continuisly, tactile, acustic, vestibular and visula stimulation. The mother must speka with babz all the time and in teh same room! No separate the baby from mother! No in other room!!! It is unnaturally!

I love Nikolas comments about stimulation.When a baby is born here  i am often telling the nurses to stop fiddling with the baby and giving to the mother as babies are often very awake and responsive in the first 20 minutes or so and then sleep.It is important not to miss this golden opportunity for bonding.

What I have used is to give them high doses of vitamin B complex and folic acid 5 times the daily requirement. With good results for 6 months.
