They did make it on Wistar rats. You can have a look in this report "Benign and malignant mammary tumors induced by DMBA in female Wistar rats" (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10475125).
However, they said that "Different individual susceptibility to DMBA apparently occurs; while some rats never developed neoplasias, others exhibited several tumors". So I think you should increase your rat number in your experiment ^^ Good luck.
Hi, I think you should use SD rats as they respond well to DMBA. For inducing cancer take female rats which are 8 week old and administer 100 mg/kg of DMBA orally dissolved in olive oil. You can also administer the olive oil to some of the control rats at the same time. Once this is done you can wait for 8-12 weeks for the development of the tumor.
I also use SD female rats but when you already have booked or purchased Wistars, I have found some interesting publications for you.
